Showers continue to lash parts of country intermittently

The ongoing spell of rains and snowfall continues and different parts of the country are receiving intermittent rain, Met Department said Thursday.

Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills occurred at scattered places of Kashmir, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and isolated places of Sindh.

Rainfall recorded in different cities during last twelve hours:

Dir-37 millimetre Muree-34, Parachinar-23, Drosh-14, Peshawar-13, Chitral-12, Muzaffarabad-10, Guranwala-8 Lahore-05 and Karachi 3 millimetre.

Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Kashmir, Punjab, isolated places in FATA, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, south Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, Sukkur and Mirpur Khas divisions of Sindh. Intermittent heavy snowfall is also likely over Kashmir, Murree and Galliyat hills.

The temperature of some major cities recorded on Thursday morning:-

Islamabad and Peshawar 10C, Lahore 12C, Karachi 16C, Quetta and Murree 1C, Gilgit 5C and Muzaffarabad 4C.

Separately, several areas of Pakistan were blanketed by snowflakes in the ongoing cold spell offering a pleasant chance to the tourists to enjoy the season to the fullest.
