PIA grounds ATR fleet for engine inspection

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to ground at least six ATR planes in its fleet after a decision by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Tuesday.

According to details, engines were being examined after 500 hours of flight operations whereas limit set by aviation authority was 100 hours upon which CAA director ordered PIA to ground all ATR aircraft with immediate effect.

CAA DG also ordered not to permit ATR flights without proper inspection of the engine.
