LCWU to reduce PhD fee

The Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has announced a reduction in its fee for PhD students and formed a twelve-member doctoral committee for the formulation of an affordable fee structure.

LCWU Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Rukhsana Kausar, while addressing the deans and heads of departments (HoDs), said that minimizing the fee will support research in the varsity and would attract more and more students to become research scholars. She hoped that the reduced fee structure will be approved by the syndicate before PhD admissions scheduled for next month.

She directed the research director to immediately issue research grants for scholars already enrolled at the LCWU.

The VC said that with the support of the faculty, she would strive hard to raise the LCWU to the world’s top 500 universities, by emphasising on academic excellence and research advancement.

Dr Kausar said that the Punjab government had given a comprehensive roadmap to public sector universities to help raising their overall institutional standards according to international requirements.

She said that the faculty should also strive to transcend traditional disciplinary limitations in the pursuit of intellectual fusion and develop a supportive culture of academic enterprise and knowledge-entrepreneurship.

“LCWU must be prepared to deliver top quality higher education and promote creative thinking in students,” VC Rukhsana Kausar added.
