Educational activities resume in North Waziristan

Educational activities have been resumed in North Waziristan Agency after the return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

With the resumption of educational activities, the students are also actively pursuing their education with a new vigour, a private news channel reported.

The IDPs were of the view that they did not want their children to remain deprived of education.

They said before operation Zarb-e-Azb, the youth of the area were indulging in violent activities and were not focusing on their education. They however said that the people of the area have now learned their lesson and would not allow the return of that dark period, so as to ensure a bright future for the coming generations.

A student of Governor Model School Miranshah said he realised the importance of education during his life of displacement.

“We faced a lot of difficulties after displacement from our native areas. The government should open more schools and colleges like Governor Model School and Cadet College to ensure bright future of the young generation,” he said.

Another student said she was very happy to resume her education after returning to his village. “I want to become doctor in future and serve humanity. I am greatly enjoying my education now,” she said.

The students and their parents in North Waziristan are determined to leave no stone unturned to develop the region and bring it at par with other areas of the country.
