A three-member delegation of British High Commission met the officers of Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment in the department’s headquarters to discuss matters related to the investigation and process of complaint handling.
According to details, British High Commission delegation included Dr Mark Shaw, Tariq Mehmood and Muhammad Ali Naikukara, whereas, the ACE officers included Punjab Secretary Services Farhan Ali Khawaja, Punjab Anti-Corruption Director General Brig. (R) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha, Anti-Corruption Additional DG Nadeem Sarwar, the director (technical), director (legal), Research and Development director and the heads of the other sections of ACE.
In the meeting, the ACE officers were of the view that the government was determined to transform Anti-Corruption Establishment into a reliable, independent and vibrant investigation agency and the measures had been taken to enhance the capacities of officers and investigation staff of ACE.
The delegation emphasised the need of professional skills to eradicate corruption in the government departments.
It was decided in the meeting that officers and staff would be trained by renowned investigation institutions of the United Kingdom and Department for International Development (DFID) would provide assistance in this regard.
Training exchange Programmes would be designed by the DFID for the officers and staff of ACE.
“Transparency in inquiries, cases and investigation is obvious by the introduction of Anti-Corruption Complaint Management System (ACCMS) apart from effective monitoring. Latest gadgets and technology would bring visible change not only in procedure of complaint handling but also environment culture of Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment”, ACE DG Muzaffar Ali Ranjha concluded.
