An infant with four legs and two male reproductive organs has been born to an Indian couple.

The baby was born to Puladinni village residents Lalitamma and Chennabasava early on Saturday. The infant was later taken to VIMS Hospital. “It was a normal delivery”, a doctor said. The mother was initially hesitant to take the infant to the hospital but relented after being advised by relatives and doctors.

“It is God’s gift to us,” the mother of the infant had told doctors. “I referred the family to VIMS. I spoke to the surgeons there on Sunday, and they told me that the baby was being kept under observation. I hope the infant becomes normal,” the aforementioned doctor added.

“A team of surgeons is looking into the baby’s condition. It is a very challenging case for us,” Divakar Gaddi of VIMS said.
