AJK PM urges world powers to settle Kashmir dispute

AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has appealed to world powers to exert their due influence on India to resume peace and settle the lingering Kashmir issue.

Farooq Haider was talking to party workers at Heathrow airport in London late Sunday where he had gone to attend an international educational forum being hosted by the British government, said a message received here Monday.

Raja Farooq Haider said for the last many years, Indian forces were using brutal force to crush the aspirations of Kashmiri people and their just struggle for their right to self-determination.

The prime minister recalled that when the UN Security Council passed its Kashmir resolution on April 21, 1948, it was supported by the US, the UK and France. He said the resolution stated that future of Kashmir must be determined in accordance with the aspirations and wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Education Minister Barrister Iftikhar, Health Minister Dr Najeeb Naqi and AJK Legislative Assembly member Ch Javed Iqbal were present on the occasion.

Earlier, PML-N UK President Zubair Iqbal Kiani, Raja Imtiaz Ahmed Khan, Yousaf Bandore, Raja Munshi, Raja Asif, Muhammad Shafiq, Shahid Rathore, Raja Qurban, Ishtiaq Awan, Raja Murrawat, Ch Saeed, Raja Taj, Iftikhar Hussain, Naveed Khan, Muhammad Ali, Amjad Hussain, Basher Hussain, Farooq Ahmed, Tariq Jameel, Maqsood Khan, Muhammad Tuseef, Naveed Goga, Raja Inaam, Ch Saleem and hundreds of other party workers accorded a rousing reception when  the AJK PM landed at the Heathrow Airport.
