PTI to hold rally in Kasur today

KASUR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to a stage a rally in district Kasur on Sunday (Today) to mount pressure over the Panama Papers issue.

The public gathering will be held in the town of Khudian in district Kasur, where chairman Imran Khan will address the party supporters.

Preparations have been made for the rally, and the Dipalpur road has been blocked with containers while stringent security measures are taken. More than two thousand policemen have been deployed while twelve walk-through gates have been placed to provide fool-proof security measures.

PTI has been on a public engagement campaign and has organised similar rallies since the past few weeks in Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan. It also plans to hold another rally in Sahiwal on January 29.

These rallies attempt to mount pressure on the government as the proceedings over the Panama Papers are currently underway in the Supreme Court against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children for owning offshore companies and properties abroad.

Imran Khan has said the landmark case is a “war against corruption’ which will lead the country into a new era of prosperity.
