LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan People Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday pledged that agriculture and industrial sector will be among top priorities of the party’s 2018 election manifesto.
According to a press release, he expressed these views while speaking to former Senior Vice President of PML-Q and former parliamentarian Syed Irfan Ahmed Gardezi who called on him at after recently joining the PPP.
Bilawal said that both sectors have been severely ruined by the poor policies of the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that the agriculture sector has seen a decline and exports have nose-dived.
He said that the PPP will not allow the decline at the cost of crony capitalism being promoted by the government, and will prioritise both sectors in the manifesto for the next general elections.
Bilawal said that PPP has lit the light of hope in Pakistan through its unmatched struggle, sacrifices and daring narratives against dictatorial forces and terrorism.
Irfan Gardezi expressed complete confidence in the leadership of Bilawal and pledged to carry out struggle for stability and strengthening of democracy. Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and leadership of the Punjab PPP were also present on the occasion.
