Smaller development packages for underprivileged people in Malir

KARACHI: Smaller development packages would be prepared for the underprivileged and poor people in Malir.

This was decided when a member of the National Assembly, Abdul Hakim Baloch, held a meeting with Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Ahmed Khan on Thursday.

The problems of the people of Malir, as well as the solutions were discussed at the meeting, an official of the commissioner office said.

The commissioner issued a directive to the deputy commissioners to prepare a report regarding the problems faced by the people of Malir. This should include the recommendations of the elected people as well.

He also called for a survey about the availability of toilets in the schools for the boys and girls in the area so that these could be provided in collaboration with the private organisations through corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The commissioner also pointed out that wrong issuance of domiciles and PRCs would not be tolerated.

It was decided that for the provision of jobs to the youngsters, an employment exchange must be set up and that to be linked with the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Programme.

Ejaz Ahmed directed the deputy commissioner to take action against land mafia for encroaching graveyard in Deh Malah.
