Saudi Arabia restores Pakistan’s Hajj quota

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has restored Pakistan’s 20 per cent Hajj quota which was deducted during 2013-2016.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Hajj ministry has assured it would consider increasing the Hajj quota.  According to the new Hajj quota, 1,79,210 pilgrims will perform Hajj this year.

A delegation led by Federal minister for Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Yousaf negotiated with Saudi Hajj ministry for the restoration of the quota and arrangements of Hajj 2017.

In 2013, the Saudi government reduced Pakistan’s Hajj quota for three years due to the construction and expansion work at Masjid Al-Haram, which was later extended to 2016.
