This is with reference to a story published in Pakistan Today on January 17, 2017. The High Commission of Pakistan in London takes strong exception to the baseless allegation that the High Commissioner had been “associated with some controversies attached to the sale of High Commission’s chancery building.”

As a matter of fact the High Commission is still located in the same building for the last 70 years. Therefore, the allegation is self-defeating.

A committee of the government, however, was formed to assess the options to relocate the High Commission to a more spacious building to cater to the needs of a large Pakistani diaspora in the UK. Eventually the committee decided to keep the existing building. Therefore, there is no such controversy as claimed by the reporter. The unfounded accusation could have been avoided if the reporter had taken the version of the High Commission.
