Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday dismissed a plea challenging appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on the ground of non-maintainability.
A single bench headed by Justice Aamir Farooq heard the petition moved by Kasur union council member Muhammad Anwar.
The counsel for the petitioner Riaz Hanif Rahi alleged that the CEC and ECP’s members did not meet the criteria of their posts because of their age. The bench after preliminary hearing of the case termed it non maintainable and dismissed the petition.
