Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said the government has lost Panama case in people’s court, and now it wants a technical decision and “the right to lie for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Supreme Court (SC).”

He said this while talking to media men outside Supreme Court here on Wednesday.

He underlined that, first, the Qatari prince in Panama case insulted the Pakistani nation; now democracy was being disregarded. “Is it not a painful thing that the PM is being granted immunity under the constitution if he lies during his speech in the National Assembly?”

Sheikh went on to say that the PM was insulting the parliament in the guise of Article 66 of the constitution. But, it seems that PM is entitled to lie how much he wills, he said.

He underlined that government has lost its case in people’s court and now the government counsel wants a technical decision from the court. “They are going to turn the parliament into a market of deceit and lies,” he added.

Replying to a question, AML chief said police didn’t conduct any investigation in connection with Ishaq Dar’s statement.
