Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Thursday said that the corrupt elements should not seek immunity from the Supreme Court (SC) adding that if way of corruption was blocked today then the democracy would gain strength in the country.

“If way of corruption is blocked presently then democracy will grow stronger in the country and no dictator would dare to cast evil eye on democracy, he said this while talking to media outside the SC building.

He said those who had committed corruption must be punished because this way democracy would gain strength and country would be set on track to progress and prosperity.

Sheikh said that when counsel for Maryam Nawaz would give arguments in court then everything would be cleared. He also hoped that the decision would come in Panama case by the end of this month.

Responding to a question, he said former president Asif Zardari had been asked that US had not invited any delegation and he should return after having meetings with some senators.
