District Administration has informed Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership about security threats in connection with the proposed rally.
Lahore’s deputy commissioner presided over a special meeting in which detailed briefing was given by the police and other security agencies to the representatives of the PPP regarding security threats for the rally.
It was informed that present security situation is not suitable for the rally and it will be not proper to do so while keeping in view the security of the participants, however, if it is done then it will be at risk of rally organiser– PPP.
However, district administration and police will make full security arrangements. The CCPO also rejected the proposal of use of a helicopter for party leadership.
