LAHORE: On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Provincial Minister (Health) KImran Nazir along with Secretary Ali Jan Khan visited Gujrat to probe into the incident of gang rape of two lady health workers at a basic health unit.
During a preliminary inquiry, it was revealed that the incident occurred on December 30 but the officers of Gujrat Health Department informed the authorities after two weeks.
The minister took notice of hiding the facts and informing the department about the incident very late and directed to suspend the Gujrat Health Chief Executive Officer Dr Altaf Husain, DOH Dr Muhammad Ali Mufti and Gujrat Health Deputy District Officer Dr Yousaf Dar immediately.
Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan on the direction of Imran Nazir immediately issued the suspension orders of the concerned officers.
