TDPs demand early compensation money

 

A large number of youngsters from North Waziristan have demanded from the government to arrange early payment of monthly compensation to Temporary Displaced People (TDPs) and take notice of the increasing corruption in Federally Administrative Tribal Areas (FATA) Disaster Management Authority (FDMA).

On the call of North Waziristan Youths, tribesmen from Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembled in front of Peshawar Press Club on Friday morning.

Chanting slogans in favour of their demands, protesters urged the government to realise all promises and commitments made with them during the start of Zarb-i-Azab against militants in North Waziristan.

Asad Ullah Shah, a leader of North Waziristan Youth has addressed the protesters and threatened to sit-in in front of parliament house if the government had failed to address their genuine needs.

Talking to this correspondent, Asad Ullah said that government had failed in a monthly payment of RS 12,000 per TDP family for the last four months.

Similarly. the FDMA didn’t pay two instalments of Ramzan Package announced by the government, he said.

He also criticised the government for delaying tactics in the repatriation of the TDPs to their homes and hamlets. He said that high ups from both civil and military administration claiming to have cleared North Waziristan of militants; therefore, there is no justification to not allow them to go back.

Levelling serious allegation against the FDMA bosses, including the director general, they demanded of for a detailed inquiry in this respect.
