A two-day international workshop on science communication inaugurated here on Tuesday to get benefitted with new advancements of other countries in the field of science and technology.
The workshop titled, “Science Communication: Enhancing Public Understanding” was organised by COMSTECH in collaboration with Technology Times at its Secretariat. It was aimed to highlight the science communication which is key to the real treasure of the scientific knowledge, by virtue of which scientific knowledge and concepts could be carried to the public.
The information shared by the participants of the workshop would enable departments concerned to fight against hunger, drought, diseases, social and economic problems. Being aware of this fact, science communication in Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries especially in Pakistan has yet to come out of its present stage of infancy.
Fazal Abbas Maken, Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology addressing the inaugurating session of the workshop deliberated on the importance of science communication for both academia and media industry to spread knowledge among the public.
