In the first phase of Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar’s 100-day cleanliness campaign, it has been decided that the garbage in the backlog will be cleaned on a priority basis and then, gradually, the daily cleaning process will be improved.
A meeting was held at the Karachi Commissioner’s Office on Thursday regarding the situation of garbage collection in the city. According to a press statement issued by the Commissioner’s Office, it has been decided that once the backlog was cleared, the garbage dumping spots in the city would be eliminated and shifted to areas where the citizens would not face problems. For this purpose, the advice of the district administration would be sought.
