The police have rounded up a suspect in the case of the mysterious death of a female student in Sindh University’s hostel, officials said on Friday.

Briefing the media here, Hyderabad DIG Khadim Rind claimed to have arrested a suspect and recovered images and videos of 30 other girls from him.

“The suspect used to blackmail young girls,” he stated. “Police traced him with the help of mobile data that showed that he was in contact with the deceased girl,” the DIG added.

Rind further said that the body had been sent for a post-mortem and that no signs of torture had been found.

Reportedly, the family of the deceased are satisfied with the police’s findings regarding the case.

Initial reports suggested that Naila Rind had committed suicide by hanging herself after she was found dead in her hostel room.

Hailing from a village near Qambar, Sindh, she was enrolled in the varsity’s Sindhi department.
