The Sindh High Court (SHC) Court on Wednesday ordered the return of surety amount of Rs 150,000 to the opposition leader in Sindh Assembly, belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, Khawaja Izharul Hassan in three cases pertaining to sedition and facilitating anti-state and hate speeches.

Izharul Hassan had got protective bails from the Sindh High Court (SHC) in three identical cases, related to his alleged act of facilitating and arranging MQM founder’s hateful remarks against the state. He had obtained bail against a surety of Rs 50,000 in each case.

The MQM leader, along with other party leaders has been booked at Sachal, Malir city and Civil line police stations.

Kh Izhar, through his counsel, submitted that he had obtained bail in all three cases from the trial court; therefore, his surety amount that he had furnished for protective bail should be returned.

After hearing the arguments, the SHC bench ordered the return of Izharul Hassan’s surety amount after completion of all the legal formalities.
