The coordination between Sindh government, Pakistan Army, Rangers and relevant departments has helped improvement in the law and order situation in Karachi, said Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Maula Bux Chandio.
Talking to media following the 18th apex committee meeting here on Monday, he said that the joint efforts on part of all concerned stake holders was producing desired results yet much more was needed to be done to turn Karachi into a crime-free city.
The provincial capital as well as other parts of the province also needed to be safeguarded against the drug mafia and illegal weapons, he said. Replying to a question, he said the apex committee had extensively discussed achievements made with regard to restoration of peace in Karachi.
“All institutions played an equal role in establishing peace across the province,” he said. To another query, he said the provincial apex committee meeting was called by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and that it focused on the overall law and order situation in the province as well as the ongoing Karachi operation. Chandio said that the sincerity of purpose was needed for efficient implementation of National Action Plan.
