Yes, a slightly older clip, but one that has resurfaced on the interwebs because of Naeem Bukhari’s primacy on the PTI’s legal team in the Panama petition in the Supreme Court.

Dr Shahid Masood’s fare is more Khawateen Digest than hard-nosed political analysis. In this clip below, you can see references to the alleged affair between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and an Indian socialite.

He segues to another bit of spicy trivia and talks about a singer (from a musical family) who was married to a lawyer and an extremely important political player “I won’t take any names,” though he might as well have screamed Tahira Syed and Nawaz Sharif’s name.

“He broke that marriage up,” said agony aunt. But the good doctor hadn’t quite hit his rock-bottom yet. The other side, he said, also took advantage of this relationship and ended up getting the government contracts of chairlift rides and such.

    Commentariat of the gutter.

    This week in Dependably Creepy:

Even the detractors of former president Zardari will concede that the man always comes through in matters creepy.

At the wedding ceremony of former Sindh Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad’s son in Dubai, a female reporter asked the PPP co-chairman what he would be doing “this time tomorrow,” in reference, of course, to his return to Karachi.

“I’m going to be with you, where are you going to be?”

And he replied without even the slightest hesitation. Our man lays on the sleaze like a duck takes to water.

One isn’t being churlish, humourless and high-strung here. The man wasn’t being funny and charming; he was being inappropriate. Respect for working women, check. Respect for journalists, check. The way he was when he made former US VP-candidate Sarah Palin uncomfortable back in the day.
