Provincial Minister for Information and Excise and Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that December 25 is a symbol of happiness, joy and peace.
He expressed this while addressing the ceremony held in connection with Christmas and birthdays of Quaid-e-Azam and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at his residence on Sunday.
A large number of people including Christians, PML (N) workers, local bodies’ representatives and notables of the area, attended the ceremony.
Different public representatives also spoke on the occasion and congratulated the Christian community on the festival of Christmas.
The minister said that this day has brought many occasions of happiness for the nation. Christians are celebrating Christmas with joyful mood and the whole nation is celebrating the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam and Nawaz Sharif.
The minister commended the efforts of Quaid-e-Azam and the prime minister, for the creation of Pakistan and defeating terrorism, respectively.
