The Christian community in Sialkot, Hafizabad, Multan and other cities across the country on Sunday celebrated Christmas with traditional zeal, enthusiasm and fervour.
Special services were held at churches for peace, integrity, solidarity and prosperity of the country.
The main Christmas function was held at Saint Merry’s Church, the celebrations kicked off after cake cutting ceremony. In order to avoid any terrorism-related incident, all the participants of Christmas functions were frisked with metal detectors prior to their entry into the churches and no irrelevant person was allowed to enter the church.
The contingents of Elite Force, reserve police and ladies staff were deployed for Christmas duty.
The Christmas trees and churches were decorated and illuminated by in Sialkot, Uggoki, Sambrial, Daska, Bhopalwala, Aadha, Pasrur, Badiana, Chawinda and surrounding areas.
