After multiple delays, finally the project of re-carpeting, extension and widening of Murree Road has been approved by Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary.
The project will be a joint venture of Capital Development Authority and National Highway Authority. Presently, the traffic jams and congestion have become the norm for thousands of commuters and residents of the area.
The proposed expansion of road will begin near Convention Center, Islamabad and will end near Village Satra Meel, Bara Kahu. It is pertinent to mention here that proposed construction of a bypass in the same vicinity had been put on hold for now.
