Local authorities in Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have imposed ban on professional male dancers and their dancing programmes.
Officials said the ban, imposed in Sub Division Khadu Khel, has been imposed on complaints of local elders and local public representatives.
“An application submitted by local elders and public representatives stating that dance programs of male professional dancers in the area often result in brawls, alcohol drinking and arms display… causing law and order problems, hence, the male dancers and their programmes are completely banned in Subdivision Khadu Khel,” reads a notification issued by the office of assistant commissioner, sub divisional Magistrate Khadu Khel.
