All police stations connected with IG office: IG Punjab

Punjab Police Department has connected all the police stations of the province directly with the Inspector General office to facilitate the general public.

Briefing Senate Standing Committee on Rules of Procedures and Privileges on Tuesday, Punjab Police Inspector General, Mushtaq Sukhera informed that well trained civilian staff has been appointed.

The meeting was attended by Senators Atta Ur Rehman, Nighat Mirza, Talha Mahmood, Najma Hameed, Osman Saifullah Khan, Muhammad Daud Khan Achakzai and Kalsoon Parveen.

A senior police official informed the body members that standard operating procedures and training modules for police has been redesigned to ensure a good behaviour of cops with the masses.

He stated that anger management, dealing procedures with common people and other behaviour changing courses has been particularly added in the training material to improve services of the department.

Chairman committee, Senator Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini asked the IG police that the discriminatory behaviour of Punjab police with the vehicles bearing registration numbers of other provinces should be kerbed strictly.

The committee also directed Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) to immediately stop the process of appointing the executive director of Federal Government Poly Clinic Islamabad.
