Punjab govt approves promotion of 280 senior medical officers

A meeting of Provincial Selection Board-2 was held at Civil Secretariat in Lahore on Monday for the promotion of doctors and assistant professors.

Punjab Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Shamail Ahmad Khawaja presided over the meeting.

Punjab Public Service Commission Capt Tariq Masood, Punjab Secretary Services Farhan Aziz Khawaja, Regulation Secretary Dr Muhammad Saleh Tahir, Punjab Management and Professional Development Secretary Nadeem Irshad Kiani, Higher Education Secretary Capt. R Nassem Nawaz,  Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Ali Jan Khan, Additional Secretary Finance Nawaz Khalid Arabi, S and GAD Deputy Secretary  Nabeela Irfan, Anti-corruption Establishment Deputy Director Kanwar Khalid Mehmood and other relevant senior officers participated in the meeting.

The meeting decided to promote 280 senior medical officers (BS-18) to additional principal medical officers (BS-19), including 20 women.

All of these doctors fulfilling the 20 points criteria for promotion based on key performance indicators belong to the Primary and Secondary   Healthcare Department’s general cadre list up to seniority number 1179. The meeting also decided to promote 230 Higher Education Department assistant professors working in grade-18 as associate professors BPS-19.

The PSB members termed the accelerated mode of promotions of provincial officers through PSB-2 during the current calendar year a remarkable achievement.
