Minister promises action against inefficient, corrupt officers in education dept

Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners across the province have been empowered to visit schools under their supervision, ensure the attendance of teachers, increase enrollment and enhance the educational standard.

Presiding over a meeting in his office here on Monday, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar expressed his resentment over the non-assignment of teachers at their actual place of posting through the National Testing Service, Institute of Business Administration – Sukkur (IBA-S), Sindh University, and union councils.

He warned officers of the education department to reform themselves or face the repercussions.

He also asked the Education Secretary Dr Riaz Ahmed Memon to speed up postings of the headmasters/headmistresses who had passed the IBA tests.

He said that there was no room for inefficient or corrupt officials in the education department and that he would not bear any pressure in this regard.

Earlier during his visit to Khairpur, the minister suspended officers Jamila Sheikh, Ayaz Ahmed Mehasar, Anis ur Rehman Memon, Nighat Sultana, Zulfikar Ali Panhyar, Ghulam Sakina, Aftab Ahmed Memon, Aziz Fatima, Pervaiz Ahmed Quershi,  Syeda Abida Shah and Waleed Khaskheli, over poor performance and failure to attend meetings.
