And so much yet to be done
From last three years, Pakistan Tehrik Insaf has done very little to bring the over whelming great change in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw that they had claimed. But some bold steps are necessary for PTI in order to win next election. These include steps in health sector, roads and clean drinking water and so on.
For instance, in majority rural areas of Khyber pakhtunkhawa, there is no access to drinking water for citizens – these are areas such as Tank, Lakki Marwat and so on. Even in 21 century they are still drinking rain water which creates health diseases among citizens and when they look to the government, there has been a lack of proper action to rectify this in the past three years. For PTI’s government it is an absolute necessity to provide clean drinking water to their citizens.
Similarly, the state of the health sector is, in a word, abysmal. In the vast majority of government run hospitals there are no doctor’s. These trained doctors prefer instead to run their own private clinics. Government does claim that they bring change in health sector but that change is only limited to the capital of Peshawar, better known than other areas, and not to other part of the province. Buner, Swat,Dir and other parts of the province are still remaining. There are no doctors available in hospitals and they bring their patient to Peshawar. Provincial government must focus on rural areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa in order to improve health sector.
The government also claimed many times that they have improved the police system and that they have also eradicated corruption in police department. But again, there is only a little change that they have successfully been able to bring to the police system and that too is only limited to the capital – Peshawar. In other parts of the province’s police openly takes bribes in money from citizens without any kind of fear. In my own district of Lakki Marwat, Police department receive monthly payment from drug dealers and they allow drug dealers to sell drugs and that too without any kind of fear. Provincial government must improve its police systems in rural areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.
Local government plays very important role in this matter in order to improve basic necessities of citizens. But government allocates very little in terms of funding to the authorized local government members who, in turn, cannot fulfill the requirement of citizens. Government must increase funds of local government in order to improve life of citizens.
Similarly, the situation of roads is very bad. Even in Peshawar majority of roads are still in very bad condition. For the last three years PTI have not been able to improve roads in even the capital – then what will happen about urban areas? Government must improve roads throughout province.
The provincial governments only seems to spend time in criticising the federal government for 2013 election rigging, Panama leaks and so on. Due to this they are still not able to focus on the basic necessities of their own citizens. Government must focus on their home issues in solving instead of focusing on criticising federal government. Provincial government must solve the above issues of KP people if they really want to win 2018 election.
