Two people were killed in a landmine explosion in Kathan area of district Dera Bugti in Balochistan when their bike ran over a landmine on Monday.
Levies sources say that both people died on the spot, adding that the mine was the work of some ‘unknown miscreants’.
Security officials reached the site of the incident and started their investigation, but no one has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area, has seen violence and target killing for a long time. Al Qaeda-linked and sectarian militants also operate in the region. The province shares borders with Afghanistan and Iran.
