Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah has directed the principals of medical colleges, chief executives of specialised healthcare institutions and medical superintendents of teaching hospitals to ensure the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
He said this during a meeting chaired by Punjab Minister Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Salman Rafique to review the security arrangements and other administrative issues.
The principals and medical superintendents of other cities participated in the meeting through a video-link.
The secretary said that vacant posts of teaching staff and medical officers should immediately be filled and assured that 400 seats of teachers and supervisors would be created for the medical colleges.
He said that the government is ready to provide a supplementary grant for security arrangements of the medical colleges and its attached hospitals. He directed that compliance report also be sent to the department.
The minister directed that monthly review meeting should be held in every hospital to access the functionality of medical equipment and machinery.
