CM sends IG Sindh Police on forced leave

The PPP-led Sindh government has sent Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police A.D. Khawaja on a forced leave today (Monday).

According to reports, the Sindh government had submitted names of three candidates for the top post.A day earlier, the top court had directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to efficiently and expeditiously probe corruption charges against Sindh police officers, including Jamali.

A larger bench, headed by Justice Amir Hani Muslim, asked the country’s top anti-graft watchdog to complete inquiries in accordance with the law and present a report within a month.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has intervened, stating that AD Khawaja cannot be removed from his post.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had approved the appointment of Allah Dino Khawaja as IG Sindh in March this year after Ghulam Haider Jamali’s removal.
