Youth killed, 68 held with arms, drugs in Kohat

 

 

Some unidentified armed men gunned down a youth and injured the other one. The police arrested 68 outlaws including proclaimed offenders besides recovering arms and drugs here on Sunday.

The police said that unknown armed men ambushed two motorcyclist friends returning to Kohat city after attending a musical show in Bilitang area. As a result of firing, Rashid died on the spot while Usman sustained bullet wounds. The assailants fled the scene after committing the crime. The body and injured were shifted to DHQ hospital where the wounded youth Usman was referred to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar, due to his critical condition.

In line with directives of Kohat District Police Officer (DPO) Javed Iqbal, the police of various police stations conducted search operations against outlaws in different localities of the district.

During separate actions, the police arrested 68 outlaws including five proclaimed offenders and recovered two Kalashnikovs, two rifles, four shot guns, seven pistols, hundreds of rounds, five kilogram hashish and Rs 4550 cash from the possession of the detainees.

The police during campaign against unregistered and vehicles with tinted glasses challaned 17 vehicles and 387 motorcycles. Separate cases have been registered at respective police stations and the investigations were underway.
