In a crackdown against sub-standard food makers and mixing mafia, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed two ketchup factories on Sunday.

The two factories, Natural Foods and Pure Manufacturer, made substandard ketchup by mixing unhealthy ingredients. PFA has taken into custody 4000 and 3500 kilograms of sub-standard ketchup from both these factories respectively.

According to Director General (DG) PFA Noorul Amin Mengal, artificial and low-quality products were being used by these factories.

PFA has also inspected breakfast points in different districts and fined 14 in Lahore, 9 in Faisalabad, 11 in Gujranwala and 10 in Rawalpindi.
