People in Karachi gather to pay tribute to Junaid Jamshed, Edhi, APS martyrs

People belonging to different parts of the city gathered at Sea View on Sunday to pay tribute to PIA plane PK-661 martyrs including Junaid Jamshed, Abdul Sattar Edhi and the martyrs of the Army Public School.

Faisal Edhi, actor Mani, ‘Fix it’ campaign head Alamgir Khan along with others walked from Pakistan Monument till Village restaurant, with some people accompanying the group on bicycles and motorbikes.

People, who had come in a large number, gave tribute to the martyrs by holding banners for them in the walk.

Singing icon-turned-preacher Junaid Jamshed and his wife were among the 47 people on the ill-fated PIA PK-661 flight which crashed near Havelian on December 7, killing everyone on board.

Renowned humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi who founded the Edhi Foundation passed away on July 8 this year after a prolonged illness.

On December 16, 2014, 147 schoolchildren and teachers were massacred by the Taliban who stormed Army Public School in Peshawar and killed everyone in sight, in the deadliest terrorist attack in the country’s history.
