The Christians have started illuminating their homes and churches while Christmas shopping is in full swing all over the country.
A report aired by a private news channel, almost all the churches have been decorated with colourful lights and illuminated Christmas trees.
The Christmas tree is usually decked with different ornaments, including baubles, small bells painted in gold or silver, stars of different shapes and sizes, pinecones, apples, candies, tinsel and balloons made from glass, metal, wood and ceramic.
Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations for the people belonging to the Christian faith. With the world becoming a global village, the spirit of Christmas crosses borders and people can see how enthusiastically the festival is celebrated at different places.
“We started Christmas preparations at the end of November by organising get-to-gathers and exchanging Christmas gifts and cards,” said Shahbaz Masi, a company employee.
The Christmas tree was a symbol of happiness and an important part of Christmas, adding that Christmas promoted brotherhood and love. “Preparations begin in early December and we have already begun sending invitations to friends and relatives,” Yasir another Christian said.
On the other hand, the sale of garments, shoes and gifts has increased in the business centers of the country. Special stalls have been arranged in the famous bazaars of Islamabad and customers can be seen thronging the markets, buying different decors, clothes and ingredients to make special dishes and confectioneries.
Youngsters and children seem exciting while waiting for Santa Claus as his vibrant outfit of red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers and black leather belt and boots spreads joy on their faces.
