Opposition leaders demand Ch Nisar’s resignation

In a response that seems unified, prominent leaders from opposition parties have demanded resignation of Ch Nisar aftert the report.

On Friday, PPP demanded that the interior minister be removed from his post.

On December 16, the PPP also submitted an adjournment motion against Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in the National Assembly Secretariat, claiming that the interior minister was incapable of playing a role in combating terrorism.

Government deserves not to rule a day longer: Bilawal

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari tweeted Saturday stating that the Quetta commission report on the hospital carnage “was yet more proof the government should have implemented our four demands by now”.

The PPP chairman added that the government should have taken notice and action based on the Quetta commission report and there was no reason for them being allowed to rule a day longer.

Nisar failed on national security: Chandio, Sherry

Sindh Information Advisor Moula Bakhsh Chandio has on Saturday said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has failed to ensure national security. He said that the minister wanted to change the National Action Plan. PPP leader

PPP has responded sharply to Nisar’s press conference. Chandio said that the interior minister was in contact with the leaders of outlawed outfits.

PPP leader Sherry Rehman also said that the interior ministry had failed to ensure implementation of NAP.

Reacting to Chaudhry Nisar Ali’s criticism of Quetta commission report, PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi backed opposition’s demand for the resignation of interior minister.

SC should take notice: Fawad Chaudhry

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry has said that Supreme Court (SC) should take notice of Chaudhry Nisar’s refusal to tender resignation.

Fawad Chaudhry appealed to Supreme Court to take notice of Nisar not tendering resignation. He said that the charge sheet against Chaudhry Nisar was a charge sheet against the government.
