The United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) has invited applications from civil society organizations for funding projects to support democracy.
Project grants range between US$100,000 and US$300,000, said a press release on Friday.
Organisations working in the areas of media, youth, women, democratization, community development, and rule of law and human rights are eligible.
The projects which are two years long are accepted. Project proposals must fall under one of the following main areas: community activism; rule of law and human rights; tools for knowledge; women’s empowerment; youth engagement; media and freedom of information; and strengthening interaction with government.
Proposals must be submitted online in either English or French, the deadline for the project is December 18th.
