Sindh Minister for Livestock Ali Malkani has said that there are numerous investment opportunities in the livestock and fisheries sector for local and foreign investors. “The provincial government fully supports the private sector for viable investment at a large scale in Sindh for the benefit of local livestock farmers,” he said.
He stated this while chairing a meeting regarding the rehabilitation and the development of five livestock farms under a public-private partnership project held at his office on Thursday. The meeting also hoped to discuss a potential one-year extension of the project.
Malakani said that the government was determined to facilitate the rehabilitation and development of livestock farms under the project. He appreciated the efforts of the government’s private partners and said that the one-year extension would be finalised without delay.
“Five livestock farms including Khudabad (Dadu) Kunri, Tando Muhammad Khan, Karachi and Rohri will gradually be developed and rehabilitated,” he said.
He said that Gulf investors are very interested in the Sindh livestock industry and that a comprehensive plan is being devised to provide them land and other required resources.
Livestock Secretary Ghulam Hussain Memon directed officials to send a detailed project report without delay and to complete the project in a timely manner.
