Pakistan and Oman conduct joint naval exercise

Naval exercise Thamar Al Tayyib – 16 between Pakistan and Oman conducted in the North Arabian Sea has concluded. The current exercise is the eighth in the series.

The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) Task Group comprised of warships RNOV Al Sadh and RNOV Al Bushra, whereas the Pakistan Navy (PN) participated with its destroyer frigates, missile boats and naval aviation units.

The exercise included a range of advanced operational exercises encompassing major facets of maritime warfare, particularly operations related to counter-terrorism, counter-piracy, and live weapon firing conducted in a multi-threat environment.

The Pakistani fleet commander expressed his satisfaction on the successful completion of the exercise and appreciated the participating units. He also thanked the Royal Navy of Oman for their whole-hearted participation.

“The spirited participation by RNO units in the exercise is a clear manifestation of the common professionalism and strong foundation of brotherly relations between the two nations,“ he said.
