The Law Enforcement Agencies has arrested a member of the Sindh Assembly Kamran Farooqui in North Nazimabad. He was nominated in May 12 Karachi violence case.
A spokesman of MQM Pakistan confirmed the arrest saying he was arrested from his temporary residence.
The security agencies have also written a letter to the speaker of Sindh assembly over the arrest.
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had also issued a non-bailable warrant of the arrest.
MQM sources said that Kamran would be produced before the ATC within a day or two. He is also accused of killing of Uzair Baloch’s workers.
Kamran was elected as MPA from PS-111 constituency Karachi and had also been summoned by the rangers for recording his statements.
