Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have arrested Sindh Assembly Member Kamran Farooqi, who had been nominated in the May 12 case.
Confirming Farooqi’s arrest, a spokesman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) said that Farooqi was arrested from his temporary residence.
The LEAs have also written a letter to the Speaker of the Sindh Assembly regarding the arrest, while the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had also issued a non-bailable arrest warrant.
Sources said that Farooqi would be produced before the ATC within a day or two. He is also accused of involvement in the killings of Uzair Baloch’s workers.
Farooqi was elected as an MPA from the PS-111 constituency Karachi and had also been summoned by the Sindh Rangers.
Farooqi had been missing before the splitting of the MQM.
