Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Asad Umer in his letter to the ministry stressed the need for evacuation from the illegally encroached land of state-run Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU).
PTI MNA from Islamabad Asad Umer wrote a letter to Federal Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Dr Tariq Fazal, regarding the illegal constructions on the encroached land.
He demanded that the authority should take notice of the illegal constructions on the university’s land because it was also causing security threats to the students and staffers of the university.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Javed Ashraf, QAU’s VC, publicly called upon the federal government to take notice of the encroachment on its land without further delay. He said that land grabbers already occupy some 200 acres of our land.
Asad Umer said that the illegal occupation of the university land would not be tolerated at any cost, adding that the government’s apathy towards educational institutions have already caused irreparable damage.
PTI leader further wrote in the letter that the CADD minister should take notice and evacuate the land or else they would be left with no option but to resort to masses to get the land evacuated from the encroachers.
A statement issued by the QAU on Sunday said: “The resident officer and the vice chancellor have confirmed that the former chairman, Nayyar Bokhari, has allegedly furthered his encroachment on QAU estate.”
The varsity currently has 1,507 acres land out of the 1,709 acres allotted to it by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
