Australia won the toss and chose to bat in the day-night first Test against Pakistan at the Gabba on Thursday.

Australia kept an unchanged side from last month’s day-night third Test win over South Africa with spinner Nathan Lyon preferred to pacer Chadd Sayers.

Pakistan, looking to win their first series in Australia at the 12th attempt, made two changes to the side that lost to New Zealand in Hamilton last month with captain Misbahul Haq and leg-spinner Yasir Shah returning.
