Due to the efforts of the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), the possession of 205 kanals of land has been handed back to a UK based overseas Pakistani woman. According to OPC Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti, Mrs Abida Shujat Rana filed a complaint that Mumtaz Ahmad Khan had illegally occupied 205 kanals and 13 marlas of her land situated in Qila Sardar Bhagail Singh, Kasur, for the last three years and also prepared fake documents in this regard.

The complaint was referred to the Kasur District Overseas Committee, which handed over the land to the original owner. Through the intervention of the OPC, both parties have also withdrawn their pending cases against each other in the courts.

Afzaal Bhatti further said that so far 50% of the complaints filed by expats have been resolved and that District Overseas Committees are playing a pivotal role in resolving the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis.
