In a country where we see rise in mortality rate due to water-borne diseases there the provision of clean drinking water is one of the prerequisites for healthy and hygienic living. The importance of clean drinking water cannot be overstated when it comes to preventing infection, illness and deaths in countries like Pakistan. Keeping this mind, the Punjab Government initiated a splendid “Saaf Pani” project to improve water supply in terms of, both, access and quality of drinking water. It is hoped that the project would be completed sooner than later as the availability of clean drinking water is the basic right of every individual.
