Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended a meeting of the provincial cabinet committee on law and order here Wednesday, which reviewed the overall law and order situation in the province.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that provision of a peaceful and secure environment is a basic responsibility of the state and that the government is prioritising the protection of life and property. He directed police and law enforcement agencies to perform their responsibilities efficiently and uphold law and justice.
Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, Jahangir Khanzada, Advisor Rana Maqbool, IG police, secretary home and other officials were also present.
